Warder, of Lexington, bounces a hard right off the chin of John Potter Jr., Greendale, while winning by decision the Open flyweight championship of the Golden Gloves tournament. The title was the second straight for Warder, who is a University of Kentucky student and lives at 140 Chenault Road. Last year, he won the Novice bantamweight crown. Potter also was a title holder in 1949, when he won the Novice flyweight championship. Warder and the winners of Tuesday night's Open championship at Woodland auditorium will represent this area in the Kentuckiana regional which will be held at Louisville from Wednesday through Friday. Louisville winners will go to the National Tournament of Champions at Chicago.Image
