2.01 Trots (1939-1959)

676 photographic negatives pertaining to harness racing events at the Lexington Trotting Track, now known as the Red Mile. The subject matter focuses on individual horse races, award ceremonies, the winner's circle, visitors in the Post and Paddock Club, spectators, and society photographs. These negatives remain in the original order created by staff of the Lexington Herald-Leader. The original LHL envelopes were labeled, arranged chronologically, and each envelope contained multiple negatives. Each negative or negative strip has been given a unique number under the series designation 2.01.
